THE POWER OF ONE FLOWER
There were many flowers growing on the lawn near the river. They were unusually beautiful. There were so many of them that from afar they resembled a huge multi-colored carpet. People often came here to admire the amazing landscape, and did not even think about who and what it owed its beauty to.
But one day, the life of the flowers was put to the test. The winds died down, all living things disappeared. Bees and wasps, birds, bats and others who could take part in pollinating the flowers no longer flew in. Even people stopped coming to the lawn. The flowers did not know what the reason was. Gradually they began to die, new ones were not born to replace them. The lawn became empty. Only one Flower survived, although it no longer looked the same as before. Gradually its beauty faded, but it did not give up and continued to grow upward. Every day he thanked the Creator for the Sun, its warm, comforting rays and for the light that allowed him to see the beautiful blue sky. He thanked the Sky that it, at least occasionally, sent rain that helped him survive. The Flower did not despair, even looking at others who were unable to withstand the misfortune because they had lost all meaning in life - they had no one to please with their beauty, and they could not give birth to offspring. They gave up. The Sun incinerated their strength - and their beauty disappeared. Disbelief took away their desire to live - and they died. Only one very ordinary Flower did not lose heart and wanted to wait for changes for the better. One day, people returned, without explanations of where they had disappeared to and why they had been gone for so long. They looked at the once beautiful lawn and were horrified by what had happened to it. It seemed as if a cemetery of flowers stretched out before their eyes. But in the middle of the ruins of a huge clearing with burnt grass, there grew a single Flower. Now it seemed incredibly beautiful. It grew, it lived, and it was handsome.
A little while later, birds, bees, wasps and other inhabitants of the forest necessary for the life of flowers flew in again. The winds blew with the same force as before. Everything returned to normal. True, the Flower did not fully understand why God allowed all his brothers and sisters to die. But the main clue lived within him.
